A good example of a solid mahogany graduated chest of drawers. With pine hand dovetailed drawers with the original blue paper lining. With working original locks and key. The original polish has been traditionally revived and wax finished.

Antique William IV Mahogany Bowfront Chest of Drawers c1830
A beautiful antique William IV Bowfronted Chest of Drawers. The moulded edge top has eared corners over three long graduated drawers with fitted turned wooden knobs, stamped 'Heywood and Dixon', Flanked by spiral ribbed columns on ribbed feet.

Antique Mahogany Cornish Chest of Drawers c1830
Recently purchased from a customer of ours this antique solid mahogany chest of drawers was in a poor state of repair. We believe the piece to have been made in Cornwall around 1820 – 1830, probably by a local furniture maker, designed to split in half for easy handling. The chest is made from solid mahogany with oak dovetailing to the drawer linings. It stands on solid mahogany bracket feet. Age of furniture is 1820 – 1830.

The chest has undergone a considerable amount of restoration. Many of the joints have been repaired and cramped with traditional hot melt glue. We have replaced the drawer runners and fitted original style brass handles. At present the chest is French polished ‘off the rubber’ but can be oiled and waxed to give a well looked after antique finish.

Antique Regency Bow fronted Mahogany Chest c1810
This antique regency bow fronted chest of drawers has a lovely even mellowed colour showing the figured mahogany and still retains its attractive brass oval plate handles with four graduated drawers (with key) and ebony escutcheons. The slightly overhanging top is balanced by the graceful bracket feet and the overall proportions are pleasing.
