After completing his 4 year Dartington Trust Apprenticeship at Staverton Joinery in the late 1980's, Simon Gilboy the proprietor of the newly opened Dartington Antiques went on to study traditional sign-writing for a further 2 years. With the backing of the Prince's Trust, later embarked on opening the doors on a small restoration workshop beside the river dart which now employs a traditional upholsterer and 2 apprenticed restorers.
