| Three Graduated Antique Inlaid Birds Eye Maple & Rosewood Tables c1875 |
An unusual and unique set of three antique side tables. These delicate tables were probably made by an apprentice from a bespoke design for a private client in the last quarter of the 19th century. All standing at the same height, the three tables feature in the centre book-matched English walnut which is enhanced by a contrasting inlaid band of Rosewood with further detailing on the corners. The outer larger area leading to the fine Rosewood vertical edge has the more expensive Birds Eye Maple veneer.
All three tables are displayed on finely turned solid walnut stands.
These tables arrived to us in quite poor condition. Bought for a considerable sum of money (which is far from being reflected in today's asking price) from a very good auction house these tables have undergone many hours of careful of restoration allowing them to go back on to the market in their original condition. We have priced these tables to sell at this price.
Still to be seen are marks and imperfections from the maker and use over time. We have hand polished and wax finished all of the tables
